Summary:  

PRKK is seeking Space operations analysts to work at HQ US Space Force (USSF). The mid and senior level operations analysts will support the USSF Headquarters Staff, Chief of Operations Office (COO). USSF is a military service that organizes, trains, and equips space forces in order to protect U.S. and allied interests in space and to provide space capabilities to the joint force. USSF responsibilities include developing Guardians, acquiring military space systems, maturing the military doctrine for space power, and organizing space forces to present to our Combatant Commands.

Primary Duty Responibilities:

  • Support integration of Space capabilities required to implement national strategy, policy, and guidance.
  • Conducting and supporting analyses and assessments on: Space, terrestrial, maritime, air, and cyber capabilities; system of systems factors which include joint or shared accomplishment of certain missions; and system vulnerability, protection, survivability, and resiliency; and capability gaps analysis, trade studies and systems level technical analysis.
  • Support formulation, coordination, and communication of USSF positions on joint matters, Joint Staff actions, and best military advice.
  • Build products for senior leaders; detailed mission analysis; personnel and facilities planning; contingency planning; guidance updates, security cooperation and partner engagement planning, program and budget preparation.
  • Interface and perform Space Force strategy and plans-related analysis and support with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and the offices of the Joint Staff, Department of the Air Force (to include the Secretary of the Air Force and Air Force Staffs), Field Commands, and other joint, Service, and international partners, as required.
  • Perform data analytics to assess and provide feedback on systems and programs within the space mission portfolio.

Required Skills:

  • Experience evaluating/assessing USSF, other DoD or NRO space systems.
  • Familiarity with Defense Space and National Security Space in the areas of operations, planning, strategy, policy, requirements, capabilities, analysis, architectures, programs, and acquisition.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Space enterprise to include DoD operational planning, requirements, acquisition, and budgeting processes and applicable Defense Space guidance and policy.
  • Familiarity with civil, commercial and international space capabilities and architectures.
  • Familiarity with the DoD space architectural analysis.
  • Familiarity with TMT and/or or other HQ staffing tools.
  • Excellent writing skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Pentagon familiarity and experience with Pentagon organizations
  • Knowledge and familiarity with current Defense Department efforts in space
  • Staff experience supporting DoD agencies within the past 3 years
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, lead and execute studies or projects and outbrief results to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, oral presentation and executive writing skills.
  • Experience supporting Service HQ or DoD Agency or IC staffs.
  • Familiarity with TMT and/or or other HQ staffing tools

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent, plus 10 yrs. applicable experience in Service, COCOM, and/or Joint Capabilities and/or Requirements development.
  • Experience and understanding of design, development and/or operations of one or more DoD space systems such as: Global Positioning System (GPS), Space-based Infrared System (SBIRS), Space Control, Space C2, Spacelift, Ground-based missile warning radars, protected and un-protected Satellite Communications, Space Based environmental Monitoring, Space track (Space Domain awareness).
  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance to be considered for the position.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Space System Operations
  • Experience writing Joint Requirements documents
  • Master’s degree in Aerospace or a STEM field.
  • 15+ years’ experience in an Ops, engineering, scientific, analysis, policy or planning field related to Defense Space
  • HQ AF/SF/SAF staff experience within the past 3 years
  • Experience with integration of Space and Intelligence
  • Experience with Cyberspace Operations integration with DoD space systems
